Career Connected Schools don't just teach career readiness. They live it.
In Montgomery County Public Schools, located in Rockville, Maryland, twelve schools have earned recognition as Career Connected Schools. Staff and students there have made career conversations part of everyday life, woven into instruction and shared with families and community partners.
These are relationship centered schools. Trusted adults keep talking with students about their strengths, interests, and workplace values, and those conversations continue year over year as students grow and their sense of what's possible expands. What students learn in class connects to a wide range of futures ahead of them.

Five of the twelve earned the Ruby Red Career-Connected School Designation, the district's highest honor for this work.
Ruby Red schools show what the practice looks like when it takes hold across an entire building. The work reaches every classroom, every grade level, and every staff member. It's how the school operates.
Here are the schools leading the way.
